The course makes for a lovely stroll, and it's generally a pleasant layout for all skill levels. This hole features one of the few intimidating tee shots on the course as it's semi-blind and played to a fairway sloping left towards yet another off-limits vineyard.
The layout is beautifully constructed among some of the Cape's finest wine farms and combined with some picturesque water features you can enjoy views of the Cape Winelands and Helderberg mountains from every hole. The course has an interesting and varied layout and the back nine must be considered one of the best in the country.
Erinvale is a 'must play' golf course nestled at the foot of the Helderberg mountains with sweeping views of the Winelands and False Bay coastline. Erinvale offers a host of world class facilities including a full driving range and short game practice area.
Somerset West Golf Course is a great course nestled between the glorious Helderberg and the blue waters of False Bay. Somerset West offers a homely club-house with particularly smart changing rooms, as well as a well-stocked proshop, boasting a rich history dating back to 1903, and its own Masters champion.
The course is framed by the Helderberg mountains and is known for its abundant water hazards, undulating greens and tree-lined fairways. Although the course is not long, like many clubs in Cape Town, Stand Golf Club can be a nice challenge in the wind and the 11 water hazards make for plentiful bird life on the course.
